June was born from a simple idea. Make product analytics for B2B SaaS available to everyone.
Users can be organized into companies (accounts) that can then be treated as unique entities in every kind of metric. From company-level funnels to retention, everything is the same as in the user level metrics.
Of course most of these features are also available in Amplitude, but they’re in a pricey enterprise plan which is only affordable for already established companies. It’s also worth keeping in mind that Amplitude was built almost a decade ago mainly for consumer apps (mobile era).

Amplitude doesn't share its pricing publicly, so you have to speak to their sales team to get up and running, and negotiate a price based on your usage. It’s also true that if you’re a young startup you’ll get 1 year for free but then the pricing becomes really steep. If negotiated their cheapest plans usually start at $25k / year.
Amplitude is the most mature tool in the product analytics space and they main customers are Fortune 500 companies. For these reasons, the variety and the depth of their features is unpaired. If you are now a big company with very complex needs then you should consider going for Amplitude instead of June to run statistical experiments on large datasets.
Still there are companies that adopt June together with a BI tool like Metabase to be able to answer all the possible questions: the simple on-going ones with June and the most complex with the BI.
Amplitude also offers a personalization engine fueled by machine learning to create custom experiences based on ML predictions. These kinds of advanced features are mainly for large marketplaces that are looking into the optimisation of their shopping experience.
If you have dozens of users and you’re in the optimization phase rather than the building one, then Amplitude’s experiments will help you run some proper statistics. Confidence intervals, statistical significance, you'll have them all.
These analyses along with A/B testing are used mainly in already established B2C companies to improve conversion rates. June is not suitable for these kinds of use cases.
